  • Board members, staff, and community partners can each take it on their own device. Comparing answers side by side often starts the most useful conversation.
  • Answer for where things stand today, not where you hope they will be. "Don't know" is a real answer: it is left out of the score and flagged as a conversation worth having.
  • When you finish, download your PDF and use Share for review to send a single section to an attorney, accountant, or other subject-matter expert.

The Cornerstone Cohort

Get the basics right, at no cost to your organization.

Every nonprofit start-up and small shop reaches a point where the mission is clear, but the infrastructure underneath it hasn't caught up. Many run entirely on volunteer time or a small staff where everyone wears several hats. The Cornerstone Cohort was built for exactly that moment.

Over six focused sessions, five organizations work through four building blocks together in a peer-learning community:

Here's what a lot of organizations get backward: governance, compliance, and financial systems can feel like the thing you'll get to once fundraising takes off. In practice, it works the other way. A solid foundation is what lets an organization move quickly and credibly when opportunity or urgent community need shows up next.

No one understands a community's needs better than the people already doing the work inside it. The Cornerstone Cohort isn't about telling organizations what their community needs. It's about helping them get up to speed quickly on the infrastructure side, so more time and resources go toward the work only they know how to do.
